Participation in ISTO Forum, Brussels

On 29th of November 2023, our project DIGITAL STORYDOING FOR LOCAL TOURISM participated in the 3-day event in Brussels, which marked the 60th anniversary of ISTO – International Social Tourism Organisation. The 188 participants from 25 countries in Europe, the Americas, and Africa also took part in a series of events organised during the ISTO Forum.

As part of this International Forum, we presented the educational modules developed by the project, which aim the enhance of competitiveness for rural businesses by leveraging digital storytelling in local tourism. This narrative approach unfolds as a vital tool for these enterprises to share their unique tales, bolster local tourism, and thus, contribute to a stronger and sustainable rural economy. The ripple effect of this strategy is the fostering of a deeper connection between tourists and local communities, shining a light on the charming beauty and rich culture of rural regions.
