Hiking towards a better future!

In recent years, young people have rediscovered hiking as an outdoor activity. Hiking is popular for a reason: you can enjoy nature quickly and easily, relieve stress and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And there is something for everyone: from the fitness-conscious outdoor sportswoman to the relaxed bon vivant – there is a route for everyone.

For young people, however, hiking is not only about their own physical and mental health, but also about how to interact with nature and how to implement leisure activities in an environmentally conscious and sustainable way. We have developed the “Climate Hikes” project to provide inspiration and ideas on how to combine the joy of hiking with raising awareness of the interactions between one’s own behavior, environmental protection and other topics to enhance a sustainable future for everyone.

In the course of the project, a guideline for “Climate Hikes” will be developed, which offers people support on how various Climate Hikes can be implemented with young people. Topics such as inclusive hiking, climate anxiety and positive communication to activate people for climate issues will also be included.
