Project: MODERN MOUNTAIN GUIDE OCCUPATION AND TRAINING FOR ENHANCING COMPETITIVENESS OF EUROPEAN MOUNTAIN TOURISM AND INCREASE WORKFORCE MOBILITY OF THE SECTOR
Description:

Globally, the International Union of Associations of mountain guides (IFMGA) is the only professional organization recognized as a regulatory factor and as regards the European Union is the organization imposed IFGMA professional standards in countries where such activity is regulated under Directive 36 / 2005 CE.

In these conditions all organizations accredited by IFGMA must follow specific requirements considering competencies necessary to possess as a mountain guide.

This project considers alignment to national qualification of Eastern partners to requirements recognized by IFGMA so their transfer of know-how to the East countries, ensuring recognition of this qualification within Europe and international level. Nevertheless, the IFMGA requirements are generally drawn-up, each country/institution having their own ways and methods to implement it. In plus, new competencies are required by the world of work and transition to a green economy. As part of its activities the project is aiming to develop green skills competences dedicated to “mountain guides” activities.

Main project’s results:

Increased the transparency, comparability and recognition of “mountain guide” qualification at European level through realization of a common occupational standard using European tools and methods and implementation of new/improved occupational standard in Romania and Bulgaria.

Facilitated the learning and labor mobility and employability between participating countries and at European level through realization of activities envisaging cooperation and exchange of best practices inside and outside project period.

Improved quality of VET programs through a better understanding and application of mixed VET methods by project trainers through exchange of best practices between partners and development of innovative blended learning training course (e-learning, practice, mobility and work-based learning).
